Odell Thurman is a former American football linebacker who played in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals. He was born on May 14, 1983 in Monticello, Georgia.
Thurman attended the University of Georgia and was a standout player for the Bulldogs. He was named to the All-SEC team twice and was a finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation's top collegiate linebacker.
In the 2005 NFL Draft, Thurman was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round. He had a strong rookie season, recording 98 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 1 touchdown. However, his career was derailed by off-field issues, including multiple suspensions for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Thurman was ultimately released by the Bengals in 2008 and never played in the NFL again. Despite his talent on the field, his career was cut short due to his personal struggles. He has since expressed regret for his actions and is working to turn his life around.
